...Panic stations.
I warned those brats about what could go wrong in the swapping. Of course they didn't listen. Kilobyte is back. There isn't a question about this. I went through the datastream power trail three times. I'm going to need protection from him. Lightning will have no choice but to participate in another alliance, because Kilobyte wants to destroy us all. Sparx may possibly have been affected. I wouldn't know as I haven't seen her since yesterday. Current Mood: worriedCurrent Music: Max Attack ~ David Maxwell | | Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 | | 6:55 am |
It's been quiet here since the swap took place. Almost too quiet. At least I've been able to get some stabilisation and programming tasks completed in the meantime. Examining the Virus' files, he appears as irregular as ever. It's best he's far away from doing any harm. According to Sparx, he's gone quiet too. No wonder, considering the program--without a world to save, he's impotent. Current Mood: bored | | Monday, December 12th, 2005 | | 12:31 pm |
I tried.
I modified the portal so it could take more than one person. I set up the amulet power surge so that it would set and maintain the portal in just the right place. And then Kilobyte intervened. Looks like they'll be stuck there for Christmas now. Too bad they fought so much about the earlier option. Speaking of Kilobyte, it was interesting that his forces gathered before I formed the portal. I wonder how they knew to go to that particular area of the game. It appears that another piece of the amulet has turned up. Fascinating. And has apparently caused no small argument, due to Lightning's heroic inflexibility and Lady Illusion's masochism. It occurs to me that there remains no need to allow the children sole custody of the amulet, especially when they provoke such disagreements as this. It's good to be home again.
My machines and my Fortress of Solitude. All I need. Has anyone seen Sparx, by the way? Her luggage is taking up most of my storage room and a lot of my living space. Current Mood: worried | | Saturday, October 8th, 2005 | | 5:17 pm |
And the lesson for today is...
Never give a credit card to anyone with non-existent impulse control? She'd probably have tried to buy the country if I hadn't been around. Even so, they'll probably need a fleet of trucks to deliver to the hotel tomorrow. I'm pretty sure a taste for that sort of underwear was never in the original problem...Not that you've got bad taste, Sparx. The opposite, as far as I can tell in my experience.. I would like to state, once and for all, that I am not responsible for the drunken conduct of a certain former Lightning Knight. It was her idea to order the extra wine in, and entirely her fault we both became intoxicated. It’s hard to say no to an overexcited superhero with a sword. Especially if she wants to sit on your lap for whatever reason. I think she has rather a nice singing voice, if I recall correctly. And, ah…I’m sure not everyone hates you, Sparx. Really. You don’t need to hug me to prove the point. Not with your sword drawn anyway. So what did I say? Anyway, I’m off to buy some aspirin. Don’t disturb me. Off to Mexico.
Yeah, I'll miss the store. But hey, business wasn't exactly booming anyway, and I can afford to take a break. And now that I think about it, I could use the vacation time. Especially if someone else is helping to cover costs. I guess I'd better get packing. Hey, humans, you wouldn't mind telling people I've just taken a break? Rick's Computer Shack, service with a smile, is still going to be open once we get back...unless I find anything better to do, of course. My computer skills don't have to be wasted on some small town in a shop that was only really bait. They'll be wasted on booking hotel rooms in the middle of nowhere...Mexico's sunny, right? Well, stick another one in the 'psychotic villains' category.
I came across a bit of rather interesting information while I was reconstructing the Sixth Dimension. I scanned some of it, too, though it's fairly fragmented and the quality's bad. Guess someone didn't spend their entire Sixth Dimension sojourn hiding from Kilobyte. Looks like Lord Fear was right about the Lady setting it up. Too bad I'd thought ahead to have a portal ready for use once Kilobyte showed up. I'd be more worried if she was an actual threat, to be honest, but women like that don't do much more than sniff around powerful men. Stupid thing to do, really, to try to betray all of us to Kilobyte. Must be the effects of trying to disobey the program. I'd say she really is insane by now. *yawn* Current Mood: complacent | | Wednesday, August 10th, 2005 | | 7:50 pm |
Sixth Dimension
So I finally finished fixing most of the Carnival of Doom, though I couldn't squeeze any more power out of the amulet piece to do the Thunder Tower and Electrum City. Interesting job, that. I didn 't have that much input to the skin designs of the world-in-general, but at least it's not falling apart any more. Tell me when another amulet piece turns up, will you, Sparx? That's if you want to finish fixing the place. Current Mood: complacent | | Saturday, August 6th, 2005 | | 1:39 pm |
Interesting. Not that I really care.
Another CGI with mental problems. I admit, I didn't believe it at first--she was programmed to be relatively mentally stable--but I hacked into the chat logs. Probably something to do with emotions, a lot of humans get mental problems. I'd recommend Valium. If she wasn't non-human, that is. The Sixth Dimension's breaking up; if I wanted to change it, I could, but there's not much of a point. And extended exposure to it could be another reason for insanity. That, and maybe, indirectly, me...must have been quite a conflict there, with the program. It's like the cyborg, only instead of a second program she's got feelings. Tell me if anyone else starts getting delusional, will you? I'm never going to write this up, but it's interesting from an engineering science standpoint. I told them!
I told them that taking out such an expensive insurance policy would pay someday! (Of course, they didn't know that I was planning world domination at the time.) I have all the resources I need. New and upgraded hard drives, lots of added memory space... I almost feel like a kid at Christmas. Not that I ever got anything like this, my parents usually gave me clothing... Back to the Fortress of Solitude. I should have got my shop vandalised before. Shiny! | | Monday, July 11th, 2005 | | 1:28 pm |
Great, now I've got a bruised neck.
So I was sitting on my computer chatting last night, until the security sensors went off. Kilobyte's become too powerful. My defences barely stood a chance, and it was really hard to block against teleportation. Mind you, that wall-flare worked, and so did the weighted net trap, and the micro-nites. Must have taken him ages to make it through my firewall, too. And ha! He was still strangling me and ranting when the Knights and Lord Fear flew in. Rule One or something of the Evil Overlord's List, isn't it? Kill your enemies straight off? Ha! Next time you try to rescue me, though, Sparx, would you MIND not thowing me into the Lightning Flash like that and taking off at a hundred miles per hour? Now that I think about it, I've got bruises on my arm as well. And don't call me loser. We humans aren't like you people, you know. I wonder if insurance covers elves destroying most of your machinery with swords? Damn. Current Mood: pissed off | | Friday, July 8th, 2005 | | 9:26 pm |
I'm still throwing up every few minutes.
The Master Programmer is back. And fortified as best I could. Maxed my credit on firewalls and security. It had better pay off. Without Kilobyte's powers I can't hack into any more banks. Programming them as fast as electricity seemed like a good idea at the time, what can I say? I think I need to hit the bathroom again. Ugh. KILOBYTE!
You can't get in here, Kilobyte! You may have me chained to a wall in the town's main electrical complex without companions but that idiot swordsman designed after one long D&D session with alcohol involved, but you entrusted ME to see to your online security! Mwa ha ha! (I should practice my evil laughter, I admit.) In my long confinement, I have been reading the Evil Overlord's and assorted other guides. I should have realised that when my creations start talking back to me in a belligerent fashion, it's time to take that plane to Alaska. Or if I'd programmed my creations with those, I would have won long ago! But oh no, nobody every would listen to me, they told me that Lord Fear had to be incompetent or else no way the game would be possible to win. Ha! Now if it hadn't been for those meddling kids... But I ramble. I have my own plans. *evil laughter* |
